The Bokaran Civilization

Bokaran Concept Art

Location: Chi'Hamak

Belief System: The Bokarans are spiritual people with a liberal policy towards belief systems due to their exposure to many different planets and peoples. Many Bokarans choose to take on the belief systems of the people they grow up around, though the majority keep with their traditional zen-like spiritual beliefs.

Architectural: Masters of building, the Bokarans have perfected the art of quickly putting up quality cities and bases in record time, to solidify their territorial holdings. Sleek, bright, and clean, their cities sport parks, stores, and living arangements in much the same style of their home planet, ensuring that their employee-citizens have a little bit of home no matter where they are assigned. Tall skyscrapers and walled cities are the specialty of the Stellar Corporation, and they never fail to impress with their architecture.

Political Structure: The Stellar Corporation of the Bokarans is a corporation-state run much like other corporations. Citizens are born into their work environment, and the board of directors is elected by the employees, though nepotism and corruption is as rampant in this government as any other. The lack of term limits means that dynasties form, even through elections, and ultra-powerful families vie for control of the corporation and state behind the scenes.

Cultural Personality: Bokarans are highly educated, skilled, and open-minded, despite the restricted nature of their governmental organization. Many travel and assimilate into various interstellar societies where they are welcome (and a few where they are not). Indoctrinated from youth, the average Bokaran is always ready to do their duty for the Stellar Corporation when called upon, and despite complaints from others of their high-brow ways, they are no slouches. Worldly and wise, these people are fair, but also relentless when presented with a goal to attain, be it scientific or territorial.

Their unique societal structure has created a slightly more formal dress code than other societies, and this tradition is only being strained now with the release of the Pandemic orphans into their society. Be that as it many, their uniforms are also regarded as stylish, functional, and very high quality.

Politics Pertaining to Other Factions:

Shendolin: The Bokarans stationed on Chi'Hamak regard these people with a mixture of respect and disgust. The two are usually exclusive of the other, as many Bokarans are taken aback by the necromancy and harsh ways of the Shendolin, while others see a rugged resourcefulness in their nihilistic ways. Those of both schools of thought do not regard these traits as enough to stop them from doing business with the Shendolin, of course. And if anything, this alliance is all about doing business.

Kandi’Kana: The Stellar Corporation have no known stance or interactions with the Kandi'Kana.

Charkritians: Unlike the Fringers, who relentlessly attack their outposts, and the regions of their Shendolin allies, the Stellar Corporation is a bit more flexible in its stance towards the Charkritians. Several small wars have earned the Bokaran's respect, and the Charkritians' willingness to talk as well as fight appeal to the Stellar Corporation's diplomatic side. Still, relations remain strained in the best of times, and usually remain at a state of war.

Fringer Clans: No love is lost here. The relentless attacks and claims by the Fringer Clans both along the border regions and by certain radical elements well inside their lands have worn away the patience of the Bokarans. The many small battles and wars fought between these factions are fierce, though the Stellar Corporation also respects them as warriors, since their more advanced technology has not been able to tip the scales in the Bokarans' favor. Ever vigilant, the Stellar Corporation has militarized its border areas against Fringer incursions and future warfare, which is inevitable...
